My family have been in Newfies since 1984,
I have grown up surrounded by these gentle
giants my whole life. From visits to local open
shows at the weekend to visiting friends from
dogshow homes being surrounded by their
newfoundlands. From the age of 6 I wanted to
get into the ring with a newfie but at that time all
the dogs were still bigger than me! My first junior
handling experience was in 2011, I was 9 at the
time. It was at an open show, I wasn’t placed
as at the time as I had to get onto my keens to
place my dog’s feet as she was so heavy. I did
qualify for Richmond that year and was placed
3rd and was over the moon.

My all-time handling dog is Cooper, Ch Zentaur
Tee Tea Effen JW, ShCM, VW who I’ve handled
since she was eighteen months, she is nearing
11 now and owned by Faye Coldwell. Cooper
more different breeds, I have but my love is with
will always be my number one handling dog!
                                                               Newfoundlands.
Over the following years I won the Working JHA
semi finials three times. With my YKC handling In 2013 I had my first experience in showing in
I have been fortunate to have qualify for Crufts breed, this was totally different from handling
every year. In the semi-finals of the YKC I classes. My handling helped me a lot in this to
won 5 times in my age group and very happy present my charge to its best. I have been very
to be short listed twice. Junior handling with lucky to have handled many Champions. My
a large breed is hard, trying to make corners first big win was in September of 2014 when I
tight and straight lines don’t always go to plan handled for Elaine and Faye Coldwell at City of
but working hard pays off. I have been very Birmingham it was a brown bitch Emmy, Zentaur
lucky to have judged junior handling classes I Gave You All who I took into Limit she wasn’t
here and abroad and happy to give any advice owned by them but they had breed her. We won
I can. I was always asked why I didn’t show limit and then went on to win the bitch CC under
