At the Reliance Foundation we firmly believe that games, sports
“ athletics are integral components of the education experience of
and
every child. Sports education greatly develops the spirit of teamwork
and quality of leadership, especially in rural children,” says Nita Ambani,
who is strongly committed to building a “multi-sports culture” in India
through the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) programme.

Launched in 2016, RYFS is a multi-city, multi-sports, school and college
competition that has already attracted the participation of 9 million chil-
dren and youth in 26 states and Union territories countrywide. “RFYS
grassroots sports programme aims to develop a sports, field games and
athletic ecosystem through provision of infrastructure, development of
PE teachers and digital empowerment to generate India’s new sports
heroes,” says Nita Ambani.
