Y&G FOR Maryland Y Youth & Government
is a program for every high school
EVERY
student, regardless of how much
STUDENT
or how little he/she may know or
understand about government and
the legislative process. Every year,
students from all backgrounds
and all levels of experience are
successful in Y&G!

As a participant, students (referred

to as delegates) form small groups
(referred to as delegations) that
meet weekly under the guidance of
an adult advisor. In these meetings,
delegates learn about Y&G, our
government, the democratic pro-
cess, and more.

Delegates also attend three

statewide conferences where they
choose a specialized program role,
either as a Senator; a member of
the House of Delegates; a member
of the Press; a Lobbyist; a member
of the Court; or an Elected/
Appointed Official, and learn

how to fulfill the responsibilities
of their chosen role in preparation
for the grand finale; a 3-day mock
