CONFERENCE THEME: “PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER: SISTERHOOD, EDUCATION, & CULTURAL RELEVANCY”
• Xinos/Kudos Workshop, Soror Marilynn Jones, Kudos Chair – Soror Jones began
the meeting by issuing an apology to the Youth Advisors in reference to the
unfortunate events which occurred during the 2019 Xinos/Kudos Youth Group
Leadership Conference held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Youth Advisors
had many questions concerning: advisors not being placed on the same floor as
their youth, trophies not given at the conference, condition of the food, refund
checks given to Basilei and not Youth Advisors, etc. Soror Jones answered
each quest to the best of her ability. Kudos was given to Sorors Hines (absent)
and Jones for a job well done during their four year. A suggestion was made
that they continue in the positions. Each chapter was given two gifts for the
Xinos Advisor and the Kudos Advisor.
Kappa Omicron Tau (KOT) Workshop, Soror Stacey Abdul-Qwai, Chair – The
workshop was entitled “The A B C’s of KOT: An Advisors’ Workshop”.
Soror Abdul Qwai gave the history of the KOT’s then discussed how to activate
the groups and the challenges of getting and maintaining groups. An engaging
discussion about specific areas was held. Soror Sharon A. Thompson, National
Kappa Omicron Chair, was an active participant in the workshop.
