V IRTUAL 80th Regional Conference
July 24-25, 2020

Congratulations to the Eastern Region on the Occasion of the Virtual 80th Eastern Regional
Conference. It is with great pleasure that I salute you for your continuous efforts to bring
educational excellence and 21st Century teaching and learning to the region. The chapters
in the Eastern Region are fortunate to be able to set the standard for using technology for
this conference, especially during the COVID 19 Coronavirus Pandemic. Although we were
prohibited from gathering in a face-to-face conference, we thank you for working hard to

make this conference meaningful. We are excited to participate remotely in all of the
planned activities and joyously be a part of all of the usual activities of the Annual Regional
Conference. You proved that “there is more than one way to skin a cat.” An Old Proverb.

Thank you to Beta Tau Chapter of Salisbury, Maryland, the host chapter, for rolling out the
red carpet to welcome the national officers, regional and chapter officers, sorors and
affiliates. The invitation and conference packet gives a most exciting schedule of events
planned for the conference. The theme, “Putting the Pieces Together: Sisterhood,
Education, and Cultural Relevancy” could not be more appropriate than during this time in
United States History. It is one which recognizes the contributions our sorors have given
throughout the years and it challenges us to continue with excellence in sisterly love.

Much success is extended to Regional Director, Dr. Patsy S. Squire, the Eastern Regional
executive team, Soror Glenda Sinclair, Basileus of Beta Tau Chapter, Conference
Coordinators, chapter sorors, and all in attendance.
