Greetings Sorors,

To God Be the Glory! Thank you for joining Beta Tau Chapter in

celebrating our 80 Eastern Region Conference. We are excited by your
presence and inspired by your devotion to each other and to our youth.
I am moved to thank you for your untiring attentiveness to our mission.
Clearly, we can galvanize our efforts to strengthen the bonds of
sisterhood among us as well as accelerate our continued efforts to
develop strong and insightful leaders who will be at the forefront of education in the
st
21 century. I want to encourage the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. to
keep the vision of our founders alive in our hearts as we continue to share with other
educators across this nation.

Our founders empowered and set high standards for us as educators to foster,
promote, and encourage one another through our beliefs of who we are as educators.
They also instilled in us a pledge to produce a cadre of successful young individuals
who will contribute greatly to society. I pray we will fully embrace the National
Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. as we launch our theme, “Putting the Pieces
Together: Sisterhood, Education and Cultural Relevance to build unity and not allow
the seeds of discord, or any other destructive force defeat us.
Let this conference be a time to launch greater initiatives to fortify the pieces of
Sisterhood, Education, and Cultural Relevance and a time to renew our commit-
ments as we hold high the banner of the “Pursuit of Excellence: A Challenge to
Fulfill.”
A special thank you to Soror Squire for her guidance and support in helping Beta
Tau plan the 80th Eastern Region Conference in her new position as Eastern Region
Director. A Special thank you to Soror Trawick and Rho Chapter for their support.
