VISIT LAKE CHARLES

Lake Charles is a culturally rich area conveniently located on Interstate
10, halfway between Houston and Baton Rouge, known for its colorful
mixture of Cajuns, cowboys, and the coast. But what really makes the
region shine is the friendly nature of the people who invite you to truly
experience the area like a local.
Lake Charles, Louisiana, has everything that defines Louisiana’s
incomparable character and Southern hospitality. Here, you’ll find
year-round local celebrations overflowing with food, live music and
people waiting to welcome you, as well as luxury relaxation, shopping,
and entertainment at side-by-side 4-star casino resorts.

Food and drink are Louisiana’s equivalent to heart and soul. Of course,
there several local staples that can’t be missed - a “Darrell’s Special”
po’boy; ham, turkey, and roast beef drowned in roast beef gravy served
on a crunchy yet soft French loaf or an extra-large seafood platter from
Steamboat Bill’s on the Lake. And, you can’t visit Southwest Louisiana
without sampling boudin and cracklins along the Southwest Louisiana
          Boudin Trail.

Another form of relaxation is stepping out into nature and being free
from all the pressures of modern life along the Creole Nature Trail
All-American Road. There are wildlife refuges, including the Cameron
Prairie National Wildlife Refuge, the perfect place to spot alligators
right from your vehicle or motorcoach as you drive along Pintail
          Wildlife Drive.

Lake Charles isn’t one flavor — one look. It’s a mixture of cultures and
pursuits. The people are artistically expressive, compassionate about
nature, and united in their enthusiasm and eagerness to share. We
can’t wait for you to visit!
