          OUR GROUNDS ARE ROOTED IN HISTORY.
          Plantations in Louisiana are one of the most sought-after attractions throughout the state. Located between Baton Rouge and New
          Orleans are Houmas House Estate, Mansion circa 1828, Gardens, and The Great River Road Museum and Destrehan Plantation circa
          1787and 1811 Slave Revolt Museum. These are two of the oldest stately homes that offer a glimpse into plantation life in the 1800’s. Each
          plantation offers a guided tour, detailing the mansions’ history and way of life along the Mississippi River in the South. Gift Shop and
