1. At a Glance:

Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-Ali located at a distance of 7 Km from South Central
Railway Head Quarters was established in the year 1984 to maintain YDM 1R &
YDM 2 Diesel Hydraulic Locomotives. With the conversion of MG to BG, the activities
of the shed had got expanded and switched over to maintain BG Diesel Electric
main line locos.

Presently the holding is 76 locos and 27 DEMU Power Cars, 93 DEMU TCs. Further
as part of “Disaster Management”, shed maintains SPART, SPMRV of HB, SC,
NED divisions and 140 T BD crane of Secunderabad Division. The shed is catering
46 Locos and 11 DEMU Rakes for passenger/express links. The shed also
maintains Break down vehicles and OCVs, viz. SPART, SPMRV, SPIC and 140T
BD crane of Secunderabad, Nanded and Hyderabad Divisions.

2. Certifications of ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001/ISO 50001/5S/GreenCo:

 This Shed has become the first shed amongst all 05 diesel sheds of SCR to achieve
IMS certification (QMS 9001:2015, EMS 14001:2015 & OHSAS:2007) in February
2017. Recertification is under process.
 Similarly, the shed has achieved 5S certification becoming the first shed amongst
all 05 diesel sheds of SCR after final certification audit in March 2017.
Recertification has been put on hold due to expenditure control in view of COVID-19
pandemic.
 The shed has been awarded the EnMS 50001 certification in February 2018.
DLS/MLY is again the first shed amongst all 05 diesel sheds of SCR to achieve this
certification.
 DLS/MLY is the first diesel Loco shed to achieve “GreenCO Gold” certificate from
CII-Godrej GBC in March 2018.
 DLS/MLY is also striving for Lean 6 SIGMA certification for which LOA has been
awarded and projects have been made ready. The certification audit is planned in
the month of February 2021.
