4. Linking Verbs
A verb that functions to connect a subject
with a complement (complementary) that
explains it. The word connected with the subject
is called a complementary subject. If we replace
the connecting verb with to be (am, is, are, was,
etc.), then the meaning does not change.
Example Explain
Aaron was a basketball The be verb "was"
team captain in high expresses a state of
school. being of the subject
"Aaron."
5. Sense Verbs
A verb of Sense is a term for verbs or verbs
where the verb is related to the five senses,
including hearing, sight, touch and so on.
