2. Noun Clause
A noun clause is a dependent clause that is
used as a noun.
Example Explanation
• My cat Our new noun clause has its
eats subject (whatever) and verb (falls).
whatever These differ from the independent
falls on clause’s subject (my cat) and verb

contains the prepositional phrase
“on the floor,” which offers even
more information.
