Education services
CBA seeks to proactively educate its members, public officials and the public on issues of
importance to the industry. This occurs via several channels including:
• Monthly Breakfast Series events and weekly webinars
• Topical webinars and workshops
• Annual Legislative Briefing and Luncheon
• Annual Summit and Membership Meeting
• Lunch meetings with members of Colorado legislature
Center for Bank Advocacy Training Practicum
A yearlong, learn-by-doing course on increasing banks’ influence on public policy. Now in
its 7 year, the program has brought more than 50 new bankers into the ranks of industry
th
advocates.
More than a dozen program graduates now serve on CBA’s Board of Directors or
Government Affairs Committee.
The program includes:
• 8 sessions with notable presenters • Attendance at a CBA Board meeting
at CBA’s offices • Attendance at a CBA Government
• Washington D.C. trip (paid Affairs Committee meeting
separately) • Colorado legislator lunches in the
• Attendance at CBA’s Annual CBA office during session
Legislative Luncheon • A state legislative hearing on a bill
• Attendance at CBA’s Annual Meeting
Participants have testified at the state legislature, met with Colorado’s Congressional delegation
and testified before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.
