But that's not his most important job, believe it or not. He also has another
job throughout the year of matching dogs, cats and other pets with the people
that need them the most - even when they don't even know they need them.
He will make sure that the people and the pets meet each other and have the
opportunity to become a family together. And that, fellow doggos is exactly
what happened to me!
When I was just a wee young pup, I was dumped in a big skip bin outside a
Kentucky Fried Chicken venue. I was not even old enough to be taken away
from my mum at the time. However, being a wee little chap who was eminently
curious about the world, I decided to explore my surroundings. You would be
amazed my friends, what treasures can be found in a skip bin. There were
french fries, chicken bones with some of the Colonel's chicken still attached
to them, half containers of mashed potato and gravy - all of which were novel
tastes to me as I'd only had mother's milk previously.
I tripped over something and fell
headlong into a coke cup - wearing it
somewhat like a crown. I picked up a
takeaway fork and pretended for a
while that I was King of my
Dumpster domain. I found a
discarded hoody top in a cardboard
box and settled down in the hood
part for an after lunch nap for a
bit. When I awoke, it was cold and
dark, and my adventure didn't seem
quite so adventurous anymore.
I wanted my Mum! I started to cry
- whimpering and sniffing initially,
but gradually increasing in volume and intensity to a full-blown howling session.
