cally  replied,  that  she  had  seen  a  great

                           many babies, but  she  had  never  seen  the

                           variety  that  do  not  cry.

                              “ And  you  shall  have  a  nurse  for
                           each,” the  Doctor went on.             “ I  wish  you

                           had  seen  the  little  things  together,  and

                           then  you  would  never  have  the  heart  to
                           separate  them.            Our  two  boys  and

                           the  two  girls  will  make  a  pretty  fam­

                           ily,    I  think  we  had  better  take  them

                           both."

                              “ W hy  not  adopt  all  the  children  at
                           the  home?        I  am  sure  that  would  be  a

                           lovely family, and  large enough to  please

                           even  you,”  laughed  his  wife.            And  she

                           would  give  the  subject  no  more  serious

                           consideration.
                               Much  disappointed,  the  next  day  Dr.

                           Moran  took  the  boys1  old  nurse  and

                           drove  to  the  home.           He  sat  down  and
                           earnestly  examined  the  two  little  crea­
