Developing a better understanding of your federal benefits works
best if you take bite size chunks. Don’t try to eat a chicken whole; start
with the wing, then a thigh one bite at a time. We know the digestive
process is a little different than the learning process, but you get the idea.
There are 6 philosophies that we use to build a solid foundation
which will help you get the most out of the Federal Retirement System:
Philosophy #1: Retirement Is What You Make of It!
We have found that most federal employees put their time into a
government service career assuming the retirement planning will take
care of itself via the pension, Social Security, TSP contributions (if
applicable) and a belief that the government will take care of them.
Unfortunately, it is not until they reach retirement age that they discover
