obstacles and setbacks. Yes, we are here to help you on this journey!
Federal employees who take advantage of a positive mindset and make
the decision to get their financial lives in order are suddenly more
confident; and definitely more educated to determine what is needed to
consistently stay on track. We have heard from so many of our clients
about a sense of accomplishment and security they feel by grasping
Philosophy # 1. They had the courage to take the first step.

               Philosophy #2: Your Financial World

Throughout many of our federal benefit planning workshops, we are
often asked about TSP rollover options and which is the best way to go.
Federal employees want to know more about the FEGLI options, and if
their selection was a good one. Our objective is to always provide solid
information and provide the best possible answers. Remember our quote
from Mr. Benjamin Franklin at the beginning of chapter two: “Tell me
and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
Remember Harry earlier in the book? I strive not to be “Harry”. Many
times, we are asked questions that don’t have a definitive answer. That
answer usually depends upon a number of factors that relate to the
specifics of that employee’s personal circumstances and includes many
possible variables mentioned earlier. There is no one-size-fits-all system
when it comes to the complexity of life changing questions. A good plan
for one employee may not be for another, and vice versa. This is why we
put so much emphasis on the first philosophy.
This chapter will show you where to direct your focus and energy.
Our goal is to give you the vision you need to succeed. Focus on
managing your mind, and then you can manage your benefits. This is
why we want to make sure before answering a question that the
employee is not skipping this very important step. Your finances and
most aspects of your life are controlled more by what is going on
between your ears than anything else. Two financial concepts for you to
