Parts of a Flower
Flowers look pretty and also make fruits and seeds. Like plants, f owers al

Like plants, flowers also have different parts in four circles. They are:
• Petals Pollens
• Sepals Stamens
• Stamens Petal Petal
Ovary Sepal
• Ovary Sepal
Sepals are the outer (first) circle and are usually green Stamen showing yellow pollen
in colour. They protect the flower when it is a bud.
Petals are the second circle, inside the sepals. They
are usually brightly coloured. They attract bees and
butterflies.
The third circle, which is inside the petals, is the
stamens. Stamens contain pollen grains at the top.
The pollen is usually yellow in colour. Pollen is Ovary
needed to help the plants make fruits. Stamen
The fourth circle at the centre of the flower is
called the ovary. This is usually swollen at the
top (stigma) and has a stalk (style).
