A sword materialised in my hand, my sword that was bound to my soul. A dark aura emanated from its blade, an aura of evil. I looked around one last time and took one long, deep breath. I had to end this time loop, for the sake of Darian who soon would be trapped her and the souls that should have died long ago. I had to use both hands to lift Retribution and pressed the blade against the mummy's chest.
“Purge this holy creature and may darkness reign once again. Cursed art: Soul cleave.”
A huge flame of black fire traveled down the blade and with a swoosh disintegrated the mummified angel into dust. Behind me I heard the sound of bones cracking and when I looked down at the skeletons they were now just one scattered pile of bones. The souls that held them together finally having moved on. But ending a time loop didn’t just affect the living, it also included the buildings. I heard a rumble and felt the ground beneath me begin to shake. The Temple was about to collapse and in tandem, the entire village. With a wave of my hand Retribution vanished and I booked it back to the hostel. The streets behind me began to crack open and hot lava spilled through the openings. I ran faster than I ever have in my life and scrambled into the hostel, bursting into the room and madly shaking Darian.
“Crimson? What is it?” He groggily asked.
“GET UP! WE NEED TO LEAVE, NOW!” I screamed.
The rumbling grew louder and that seemed to get his attention. “What sound is that?” He asked, looking around.
“No matter, let’s go. NOW!”
