At the time of writing the building is occupied
by a group of undocumented migrants of the
Voix des Sans Papiers collective. They mainly
sleep in the right wing (when looking at the bu-
ilding from the side of Fritz Toussaint street),
as that one is in better shape. Parts of the buil-
ding, as well as the garage boxes and the little
house in the back, indeed don’t give the im-
pression they have been well maintained, and
are in need of renovation. Cameras are hanging
above all entrances – in Fritz Toussaint street
and Juliette Wytsman street – as well as on the
corner of both streets. Barbed wire is fixed on
top of the wall that seals the back side of the
building (in the remainder of this booklet we
will call this space the backyard or the garden)
on the side of Juliette Wytsman street.
The side entrance (towards the backyard) is
permanently closed. Cars are parked in front.
Also the backyard itself is currently not being
used. Some inhabitants dream of installing a Cameras on the corner of the street
communal garden.
