As the building belongs to a university
project, it provides for needs of students,
university staff and visiting scholars,
housing being one of them. This building
can integrate a part of this need while
also providing rooms for newcomers. Be-
sides housing, the layout of the building
and the existence of the backyard provi-
de for a range of complementary activi-
ties. They can be organized by different
groups of people, and at different times
of the day. For example, workshop ro-
oms can be used during the day for stu-
dent projects, while at the evening they
can be used for the organization of activi-
ties or events for inhabitants of the buil-
ding, neighbours, and /or a wider public.
Throughout the day, the building is both
accessible from the front door as well
as from the garden side. It is divided
into different corridors; some are only
accessible for inhabitants. A variety of
rooms connecting to either central cor-
ridors and/or the backyard can be reser-
ved for the organization of meetings or
events; the bar and the library are open
all day long without access restrictions.
