Gargee’an
Gargee’an
(Salute their child, O God...Leave him to his mother, O
God...)
It is an authentic tradition that both children and
adults await in the middle of the holy month of Rama-
dan.
Out of our constant keenness to promote the social
values of our children through events and occasions,
the children’s attention was drawn to the great mean-
ings that this occasion includes, such as kinship ties
through family visits, and the concept of charity in
donating surplus Gargee’an. We did not forget to
remind them to eat the sweets sparingly and to brush
their teeth. The English Education Providers Group
(EPG) worked with the esteemed parents to make the
event truly splendid. In an evening full of events and
activities our children and their families dressed in
vibrant and colourful traditional clothes and presented
Gargee’an sweets to their friends and teachers.
The party included some movement activities such as
jumping games, dancing to the tunes of popular songs
for this occasion, and also included artistic activities
such as face painting, colouring, and making artwork
for the holy month, like paper lanterns and others.
It was truly a special Ramadan evening in which our
children shone like stars and their eyes sparkled with
joy and enthusiasm.
