Enabling Your Environments
Classroom layout is extremely important, as it supports maximum teaching opportunities. All
teachers will need to look at their classroom, and go through the list of things that they need, for
example; quiet corner, messy area, super senses, discovery table, construction, teacher-led table.
Each room has an approved classroom layout plan which must be strictly adhered to.

Be prepared for September! Accessibility to learning is key - resources need to be labelled well, even
in transparent tubs. Children have to be trained to know what they are/not allowed to access. Give
the children the tools to do it themselves in order to promote independent learning.
Basic resources and clearly designed areas of continuous provision should be established then can
be enhanced and developed throughout the year.
