EY Director Message
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe your children will have been in class now for almost 3
months and it is wonderful to see how quickly they have all settled into the
routines of the day and have begun to make new friends!
Our staff has also been busy this term, supporting your children with their
self-con dence & independence, oral language development & subject speci c
knowledge & skills. Our mission is to ensure that your child reaches his or her
potential as a unique child, learns, and develops well, in an enabling environment,
with caring teachers, and is kept healthy and safe.
We place an emphasis on effective, researched best practices for teaching and
child development, recognising that children learn at different rates over time.
Our teachers have participated in professional development sessions each week
with our Academic Central team facilitators, building their skills in 21st Century
explicit teaching strategies, focusing on personalised learning in the subject
areas: Literacy, (English and Arabic), Reading & Writing, Mathematics, as well
as encouraging their creativity, higher level questioning skills and vocabulary
building. We plan for a rigorous program, that is centred around purposeful
play, and we invite and encourage your child’s problem solving and thinking
skills.
