The EPG Early Years classrooms provide quality and consistency, ensuring a
secure foundation for learning through planning, assessing and reviewing what
your child has learned (assessment for learning). We believe in a partnership
with parents and encourage you to continue to share your insights on your
                                child’s strengths and needs.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework (UK) has been
revised in 2021 to place a greater emphasis on the Prime areas: Communication
and Language, Physical development, Personal, Social & Emotional development.
It will also now focus more on language and vocabulary building, literacy, and
numeracy outcomes, based on child development evidence.

Rather than race to count to 100, children will develop a strong sense of
number, and will also focus on shapes, spatial reasoning, and math “talk” (the
language of math such as positional math language – beside/ behind/
                                in/on/under/up/down etc.)

As you can tell by the many activities and events your child has participated in
this rst term, we have focused on opportunities to enrich your child’s world
experience through eld trips to our new Talent Centre and Qidsya trip, and the
recent International Week celebration. The Open Day was also a huge success!
Integrated activities included the All About Me and Healthy Me week. We are
excited about the upcoming TT, PreFSL and FSL Gym Day, & FS1/2 Sports
Week event & Community Week in late November. We are also pleased to offer
the new afternoon Integrated Programme for your children.

Teachers enjoyed meeting you in September at the Parent Information afternoon
sessions. November will be a time again for you to meet with your child’s teacher
at the Parent/Teacher Conferences, to celebrate your child’s progress and see
evidence of their development in gross and ne motor skills, language and
reading readiness, as well as their mathematics knowledge of number, patterns,
                                and shapes.

Our teachers look forward to meeting with you this month.

Thank you for your ongoing involvement and support of your child’s progress.

                                                                                                              Warm regards,
