Chapter 3 Campus Life

Unit 2: Directions Going to School

In case a friend or neighbor wants to visit your school, how would you explain how
to get there? Try to give simple directions in going to your school.

              Answer A:
From my apartment, I hail a taxicab to Seoul Subway Line 2. Taxicabs usually enter the street
where I live on. The bus stop is far from my apartment, so I opt to ride a taxi instead. After arriving
at the subway, I get on the subway and get off at the station near my university. From there, I
go to exit #2. From there, I walk straight to my campus. Traveling usually takes me around 30
minutes. If I take the bus, it would take me around an hour or so. I hate the traffic in the morning,
so I use the subway as much as possible.

              Points to emphasize in answering:

                   Mention your starting point.
                           [example: From my apartment,]

Provide the definite mode of transportation.
[example: I hail a taxicab to Seoul Subway Line 2.]
                   - Tell the exact order of how you go to school. Transitions like ‘After’ or
                      ‘From there’ help a lot.

Provide a period for the whole trip.
[example: Traveling usually takes me around 30 minutes.]
