Chapter 5 Spare Time Activities
Unit 3: Joining Clubs
Joining school organizations or clubs is a part of school life. Students have different
reasons why they join a particular group. Discuss your consideration in joining a
club.
Answer A:
I have received numerous invitations to join clubs since I entered the university. Joining clubs is
an opportunity to broaden our perspectives about the things around us, as we meet more people
and encounter fresh ideas. I am a member of a book club at school, and the things I considered
before joining were the nature of the clubs and how they relate to my interests. I am a book lover,
so I opted to join a book club. I also had to consider the existing members of the club and review
its programs and activities. The people in my club are good and we already developed strong
bonds with each other, especially because we have one thing in common - we love to read.
Since I joined my book club, I have had no regrets about being a part of it.
