Sculpting Bronze and Marble
Sculpting bronze and marble can be very different. Each requires different
materials and different skills. Both bronze and marble can be used to sculpt
intricate, ornate patterns, but they are different in how the patterns are achieved.
Bronze is stronger so it allows the sculptor to create different shapes and poses.
Marble and clay are easily broken. A great example is the famous Venus Oi
Milo. That statue’s arms broke off. Bronze was also much more valuable than
marble. This is because bronze was used in sculptures, swords, kn ives, and
arrows.
