Chapter 3 Campus Life
Unit 4: Favorite Class or Subject
Students normally develop an inclination towards a specific class because of factors
like the professor’s character and his or her methods of teaching. Describe your
favorite class and the reasons you prefer it to the other classes.
Answer A:
I have the habit of dozing off during classes, especially when the subject is uninteresting and our
instructor has a soft voice that could lull me to sleep. This never happened in my English class in
the first term of my third year in college. On our very first meeting with our professor, she made
us write an article about ourselves. She made humorous remarks on our compositions and upon
checking our papers, told the class that she found one student to have written a very remarkable
essay. When she declared the student’s name, I realized that it was mine. I felt a great sense
of achievement because somebody appreciated my work and announced it to the whole class.
Since then, I became increasingly interested with our class and the subject, and tried my best
to excel and please my professor.
