Chapter 6 Hobbies and Interests
Unit 6: Cooking
Cooking something good does not always have to be all about making a recipe from
a cookbook. It could be a simple food preparation for yourself or your family. Narrate
a special memory when you cooked food.
Answer A:
I look forward to the excitement of cooking my family a meal after a hard week. It’s a stress
buster! I don’t usually do the cooking since my hands are full in school, but when I do, I always
see to it that I battle it out in the kitchen with fervor and gusto. I try to perfect my slicing, flavor
the food right, and cook in the right temperature. The result? A mouthwatering banquet my family
surely enjoys. Last Sunday, it wasn’t only my family who savored my cooking but also my friends.
I invited them over for lunch since we had a group meeting. I cooked kimchi fried rice, bibimbap,
bulgogi and some sweet rice cakes for dessert. Once they smelled the aroma from the food I
was cooking, they had never stopped flattering me. We had a great meal! All stomachs were
full; all palates were satisfied. One of my friends even asked me that we try doing a potluck
lunch next weekend! I am excited for yet another kitchen experience to satisfy my predilection
and everyone’s hunger.
