Evidence Write an Announcement
PROMPT
In The Nose Awards, the author explains why several animals might be
chosen to receive a special award called an “Elly.”
Imagine that you have been asked to select one animal as the winner of
the Elly award. Write an announcement to tell which animal you selected
and why that animal’s nose deserves the award. Since this is an award
announcement, use words that are exciting and grab readers’ attention.
Try to use some of the Critical Vocabulary words in your writing.
