The Everglades Story
A law to help save the Everglades was passed in 2000;
it was one of the biggest plans ever to save a habitat.
People built big tanks to collect and store rainwater. They
also stopped sending so much Everglades water to other
places. Instead, they allowed more water to flow down the
river of grass again. This was great news for such animals as
storks and panthers.
