Evidence Write a Newspaper Report
PROMPT
Gigi finds himself in “big trouble” in Scene 3 of Gigi and the Wishing Ring.
The scene describes what his loyal friends, Cat and Dog, do to try to
save him.
Imagine that you are a reporter for the newspaper in Gigi’s hometown.
Your assignment is to write a news report about what happens to Gigi. A
strong news report gives information that tells who, what, when, where,
why, and how. Use details from the play to answer those questions as you
write your report. Don’t forget to use some of the Critical Vocabulary
words in your writing.
PLAN
Use the Cast of Characters information to make notes about who
the most important characters are. Use the Setting information
to start listing where the story takes place. List all the places
Gigi travels.
