180 GIGI: I think she deserves a taste of her own medicine. Let me have the ring.

181 (CAT gives GIGI the GOLD RING. GIGI puts it on his finger.)
182 GIGI: I wish that Maliarda was on top of the highest mountain in Italy.

183 (GIGI twists the ring. Play slide-whistle sound effect.)

184 MALIARDA (from offstage): Oh, noooooo!
185 DOG: Gigi, I know she’s a terrible person, but it would be cruel to leave Maliarda
                                             on top of that mountain.

186 GIGI: You’re right. I’ll be merciful. I wish that Maliarda was only halfway up the
                                             highest mountain in Italy.

187 (GIGI twists the ring. Play slide-whistle sound effect.)
188 MALIARDA (from offstage): Not again!

189 GIGI: You know, Mama was right. You do get from people what you give to
people. I was kind to the old woman, and she was kind to me. I was loyal to my
friends, and they were loyal to me. But when I lied to Maliarda, she lied to me.

190 CAT: Well, I hope you’ve learned your lesson, Gigi.

                                         191 GIGI: I sure have!
192 NARRATOR: Gigi brought his mother to live with him in his new

193 mansion. (GIGI’s MOTHER enters from left and hugs GIGI.)
194 NARRATOR: And they all lived happily ever after.

                                         195 (Lights out.)

                                             THE END.

                                               merciful Someone who is
                                               merciful is kind and forgiving.
