                                      PROMPT


                                    In Mr. Linden’s Library, Carol begins reading a story from Tales From a Dark Sea, and
                                    soon discovers that this story is like no other she has read before.


                                    Imagine that you are Mr. Linden and that you noticed Carol’s interest in the book when
                                    she visited your library. Write a fictional letter to Carol that you will leave inside Tales
                                    From a Dark Sea for her to find after you are gone. Explain why you warned her not to
                                    begin reading the book, and offer her some advice now that she has become captured

                                    by its story. Write from Mr. Linden’s point of view, and use detailed evidence from the
                                    text in your explanation and your advice. Don’t forget to use some of your Critical
                                    Vocabulary words.
