Evidence Write a Movie Summary
PROMPT
Willie B.: A Story of Hope tells about the life of a silverback gorilla in an Atlanta, Georgia,
zoo. The author uses strong imagery to help make a strong connection between the
reader and the events in Willie B.’s life.
Imagine that the zoo is planning to make a movie about Willie B. Decide which parts of
his life should be included, and write a summary for each scene or section of the film.
As you review the text, find evidence of ways the author brings Willie B. to life and note
the emotions the reader experiences when reading. Use similar imagery in your
summary. Be sure to include a closing scene that will cause viewers to feel a strong
emotion and remember Willie’s story. Don’t forget to use some of the Critical
Vocabulary words in your writing.
