Of course, there are people who will willingly spend a lot for quality. Sometimes, an item may
be expensive, but it’s so because you’re paying for the quality. In that case then, an item may be
expensive but still be reasonably priced. So, I think it’s possible that an item may be expensive
and still remain reasonably priced.
1. Orient your sales agents on why your product has a reasonable price. Pres-
ent the following reasons.
a. better quality compared to other products
b. bulk buying gives lower prices
c. good name in the business
Sample answer:
As sales agents of this company, you should be able to explain why our products are reasonably
priced. You have to convince potential clients that they are getting their money’s worth when
they buy our products. First, they can compare our product with all other items in the market
and ours will surely have the best quality. Second, this high quality has given our company a
good name. Our reputation is very credible in the market. Any product created by our time is
considered high quality. Third, despite our high quality and good reputation, we still offer a
lower price to those who can buy our products by bulk. Where else can customers find such
good offers? Definitely, our quality, good name, and discount rates through bulk buying makes
our items reasonably priced. I hope that you can share this information with our customers.
2. You want to get a better deal from your business partner. State why you
think the current price offered for the item you’re planning to buy is not rea-
sonable. Present the reasons below.
a. The item is a new product. It doesn’t have an established reputation yet.
b. There are other brands with lower prices.
Sample answer:
I hope you understand why we are asking for a lower price for your items. We think that you can
still lower the price, considering that you are presenting a very new item. Of course, you know
what this implies. We are willing to purchase your product, but because it is new, we can say
that it is somehow untested. Still, we are taking a risk because we trust you. We trust you even
if you’re still new in the business. In other words, we are taking a gamble here, but we hope that
you can prove that we’re making the right decision by lowering the price. We did a quick survey
on the price of your competitors and your product price is not exactly the lowest in the market.
I hope that you can consider lowering your price, especially because this is our first business
deal. I hope you can give us this offer.
