TRAINING ON THE TECHNOLOGY OF
USING WATERPASS INSTRUMENTS
A waterpass is a surveying instrument used to measure the height difference between closely spaced points. The height of the
object is determined using the horizontal crosshairs (the telescope’s axis) that are directed towards vertical measurement benchmarks.
The equipment used in waterpass measurement includes the waterpass instrument itself, a tripod stand, a plumb bob, an umbrella, two
measuring staffs, a measuring tape, nails, a hammer, paint, and a small brush. When using the waterpass instrument, it is essential to have a
measuring staff (target board) accompanying it. The most crucial aspect of the measuring staff is the accuracy of its scale divisions to ensure
accurate measurements.
Training Purposes
Understanding how to perform leveling
measurements using a waterpass
instrument and comprehending how to
calculate height differences is essential Training Courses
in determining the proper method for
measuring height differences, whether it is • Introduction to waterpass instrument
transversely or longitudinally. Additionally, • Introduction to measurement auxiliary
it is crucial to accurately calculate the tools
