In the pursuit of choice, a fourth strand was added to the plait and the box
plait was born, in fact the box plait turned out to be more than just a
different texture plait, it was the basis of many techniques to come. Even
Simon Forbes Mono Fibre extensions begin with a short box plait.
The box plaits were created by taking a one centre metre square section
from the grid, and dividing the natural hair into two sections, then lay a
strip of fibre across the centre parting. Fig 7
