My question is “Why did The Mail on Sunday picture editor never publish

the original photograph without cropping it first?”

The photograph is suspicious because it has been cropped out of a larger

photograph. I can tell this because the shape of the photograph is longer than

a 35 millimeters frame. The red rectangle shows the correct area covered in a

35 millimeter frame (Please see Fig. 4.)

Andrew and Giuffre have been reduced in size to fit into the door frame. This

makes Maxwell appear almost the same height as Andrew even though she is
3 feet behind Andrew and 8 inches shorter than Andrew

The photograph has been cropped so the door frame goes out of shot.
Andrew is 6 feet tall a standard door frame is 6 feet 3 inches tall and would

appear just 3 inches above Andrew’s head. I believe the reason for cropping

this photograph is Andrew and Giuffre have been reduced in size, thereby,
the door frame continues another foot out of shot.

Once you begin to manipulate one object in a photograph it effects the
dimensions of all other objects in the photograph. The banister on the landing

would be the standard 2 feet 9 inches or 3 feet high for safety reasons, and

would appear as tall as Andrews waist. The banister shown in this photograph

is one foot below Andrew’s waist.
