The colour temperature:
The Andrew/Giuffre photograph was created using three separate
photographs montaged together. Whether a photograph has been taken
digitally or on film, either method records not only the image but also the
colour temperature.
Maxwell’s photo was taken from the end of an empty hallway by a film
camera using daylight negative film in tungsten light with fill in
electronic flash. Photographs taken in tungsten light with daylight film
records skin tones as orange in colour. This is due to tungsten light being
low in Kelvin degrees. However, the orange tones can be lessened by the
use of fill in electronic flash.
The light source used to shoot both Andrew’s photograph and Giuffre’s
photograph was electronic flash only. Cool in temperature; thereby,
displaying blue\white in tone. (Please see Fig. 5.)
