Test 3 answer key

Woman: Hi, Bill, it’s Maria. Here are the final details for Tom’s birthday party
on Saturday. I’ve booked the hall from seven o’clock in the evening,
so we’ll have time to prepare things before the guests arrive at eight.
If everyone comes, there will be thirty of us at the party.
The address of the hall is 26 Ludlow Road. I’ll spell that:
L-U-D-L-O-W – then you’ll be able to find it easily. Now, I know we
talked about serving hot food at the party, but I think people will be
happy just to have some snacks. I hope you agree. Ann is bringing
a cake and I’m happy to buy the other food.
Are you still OK to get the music ready? I think pop music will be
better than jazz for people to dance to. I’ll give you my mobile
number, you might need to contact me on Saturday. It’s
0-double 7-1, 2-6-5-7, 3-1-5. Please phone me if you think we
                                  need anything else.
                        Now listen again.
                        [repeat]
That is the end of Part Two.

PART 3 Now look at Part Three.
For each question, choose the correct answer. Look at questions 11–15 now. You
                        have twenty seconds.
You will hear Andy talking to his friend Sara about a walk.
Man: Are you ready for our walk on Wednesday, Sara? We’re starting at 9?
Woman: Yeah. Shall we meet at the car park, Andy?
Man: I’m coming by bus, but I can walk there from the bus stop.
Woman: Well, how about the playground? That’s halfway between.
                        Man: Sure, thanks.
Woman: I think the weather will be OK – no more rain, but quite windy.
Man: I’ve heard it’ll be very sunny. And it isn’t going to be windy after today.
Woman: Right. You’ve got a good map of the area, haven’t you?
                        Man: Sure, I’ll bring that.
Woman: And I can get some juice for us – not too much, because I don’t
                                  want to carry a backpack.
Man: Fine. And shall we have lunch at the Bridge Café? You have to walk
a bit from the path to get to it, but the dishes are great. But it’s quite
                                  expensive.
Woman: OK. I’m sure it’ll be an amazing day. Not for the exercise, because
it’s very flat, without any exciting views. But it’s great you can come
                                  – we haven’t talked much in the last few weeks.
Man: You’re right. And I’d like to take some photos of the countryside.
                        Now listen again.
                        [repeat]
That is the end of Part Three.

                                                                                               107
