SHEET BEND
This is a good general utility knot for joining two lines, specifically
if the two lines are of different diameter and material. It is quick
and easy to tie, can withstand great strains, and is easily untied
afterwards. The knot can also be modified quickly to create a
“slipped” knot for quick release.
1 If you are joining two lines of different diameters, choose the thicker line
and form a small loop.
POSSIBLE USES?
• Joining two lines of different diameters.
• A situation where a knot will be under great strain.
2 Pass the smaller diameter line end, up through the loop.
