BAHVS Conference 2015 – Dublin, Ireland by S.F. Chapman (USA)
September 2015
We know that we can look forward to Irish hospitality when the Conference travels to Ireland, and our Irish colleagues certainly delivered. Tom Farrington must be congratulated for a tremendous effort in the face of cancellations and scheduling difficulties; the Conference was a wonderful success, thoroughly enjoyed by the delegates and speakers alike.
The AGM addressed some issues and concerns, which I am sure that Stuart Marsden will ably report; I will touch on the fun bits:
Stuart is renovating the website, and he is eagerly awaiting submission of your cured cases for posting.
Wendy McGrandles reported that we now have 75 members, and we have a small safety net of working capital. Woot! Go Scots! Wendy would also like to remind us that her office manager (who is fabulous!) appreciates when we pay our dues on time.
In other news, Peter Gregory is the new Faculty veterinary dean, taking over from Chris Day, who has recovered very nicely from his cardiac excitement, thank goodness.
Brendan Clarke, in his role as BVA homeopathy spy, I mean rep, reports that the veterinary climate is actually more welcoming of homeopathy.
John Saxton was elected as an honorary member in recognition of his lifelong contributions to the association.
