This year’s Living History presentation on Friday morning was made by Thomas Jefferson. He is a regular
part of the SOA Program and normally kicks things off the first morning. During his presentation he provided
keen insights into the thoughts and actions of the Founders and Framers. He specifically expressed and
explained the difference between “making” or presenting and argument, and that of “having” an argument.
Following the presentation, Thomas Jefferson posed for pictures with all the students and chaperones on the
porch of the Martha Washington Building.
