FACE officially opened on Saturday Morning, August 24th, 2024. It was
attended by twenty-nine Sojourners and eleven ladies representing fifteen
chapters. Attendees included the National President and National
Commander along with nine National Sojourner Officers and three National
Heroes Line Officers. We were also honored to have two Legion of Honor
recipients, a Past National President, and four Past National Commanders.

The opening included a rousing ‘Toast to the Flag” presented by Bro. COL
Frank Harris, LOH, PNP.

During the conference we heard about each of the eight Chapters in the
Federal Area. Bro. Bill Turner gave a presentation on the Headquarters
Relocation Plan., The National Commander and National President spoke
about their year’s and their expectations.

We presented awards to the Federal Area Sojourner of the Year – Carl
Stahlman, Ft Meade, No. 4; Hero of the Year – Randal Arnold, Quantico, No.
44, and Camp Follower of the year – Margaret Bartley, Old Dominion, No.
364. Bro. COL Frank Harris, PNP, LOH was given a Federal Area Lifetime
Achievement Award and we had a birthday cake to celebrate his upcoming
100th Birthday on October 1st.

Following an enjoyable Bennington Lunch we had a
presentation by the ladies of the Camp Follower Degree
where we initiated a new Camp Follower.

Following the Camp Followers Degree the ladies heard
a presentation by Ms. Vanessa Spevadek, our new Camp
Follower, who is also a Historical Interpreter from
Mount Vernon.
