                                        NATIONAL SECRETARY’S DESK

Another Annual National Convention (ANC) is in the books and I want to bring to
your attention a couple of key elements that came out of it. First – The fees for a
Membership In Perpetuity (MIP) will be increased from $255.00 to $700.00
effective 1 January 2024. Second – Per Capita fees will increase from $20.00 to
$35.00, also effective 1 January 2024. I would encourage all Chapters to send
delegates to each ANC to exercise your right to express your opinions and make a
difference. If money is the issue in sending delegates or your President and
Secretary consider doing a fund raiser during the year to offset the costs. It is important for each and every
Chapter to have a voice and be able to influence the future of National Sojourners.

Secretaries and Adjutants need to read the article included in this magazine on how to submit articles for The
Sojourner written by the staff at the National Office. We hope this helps you in your submissions. Speaking of
which, with the overwhelming amount of emails, phone calls, and interruptions we have each day at the
National Office, it is possible that we might overlook your article submission. Please accept our apologies
and remind us if you have received acknowledgement so we can add it into the next issue. We want to make
sure your Chapter or Camp receives the recognition it deserves!

The National Office would like to ask the Chapters to put your orders in NOW to replenish your ROTC
supplies instead of waiting until last minute or during the Holiday season. This not only helps us to fulfill your
requests but allows us to meet your deadlines.

I was also asked by the hard-working staff at the National Office to please be patient as we train new
personnel undergoing training at HQ – it takes time. Another item – membership applications will only be
accepted in DIGITAL FORMAT and EMAILED to HQ. Paper copies sent by USPS will be rejected. The
same applies to the Chapter Annual Report (CAR). It needs to be filled out digitally, using Microsoft Excel or
Open Office, saved as a SINGLE Excel file and attached to an email and sent to hq@nationalsojourners.org.
The staff informs me we have not received CARs from the following Chapters:
