MID-WINTER MEETING

The Mid-Winter Meeting (MWM) was held 6-10 January, 2024, with 86 attendees (58 Sojourners and
28 Guests). It was a time and place for National committee and officer meetings, workshops and training, and
socializing. Highlights or key events worth noting from the MWM include the National Secretary meeting
with Chapter Secretaries and Area and Regional Representatives; discussing updates regarding the National
database (MMS) and our website; and an informal yet informative Q&A session. Various National
Committees met and held discussions relative to their responsibilities. National Officers met together and with
the Board of Trustees. The Resolutions Committee met twice to deliberate 17 proposed resolutions. Three
resolutions were withdrawn or rejected and three emergent resolutions were submitted at the MWM making in
total 17 proposed resolutions to be voted upon at the next Annual National Convention (ANC).

Speaking of the next ANC, I hope you are making plans now to attend our ANC this coming 10-15 June. If
your cable tow is short and unable to attend the entire convention, try and attend the business sessions on
13 and 14 of June (Thursday and Friday). Registration and other information regarding the ANC may be found
in the members area of our website (nationalsojourners.org) once NASOCOCO has completed the setup for
online registration. However, some ANC information is listed in this issue of The Sojourner. Remember to
purchase an ad in the ANC Souvenir Ad Book. It’s fun for you or your Chapter and it helps to defer costs of
holding an ANC. Anyone may purchase an ad – individual members, Chapters, Committees or a group of
friends. Be creative and have fun with it, and support the National Sojourners ANC!

Secretaries and all members are reminded:
• Forms for award recognitions and nominations are now due 31 March to hq@nationalsojourners.org.
• Recommendations for Chapter Excellence are now due 1 April to Regional or Area Representatives.
• Nominations for National Elected Offices should be sent to hq@nationalsojourers.org ASAP.
• Legion of Honor nominations should be mailed to HQ per procedures dictated in the I&A Handbook.
Failure to comply will result in a rejection of processing the nomination.

This year’s ANC will be held in Austin, Texas!
