Convention Highlights
Goodbye, COVID! Aloha, Propane! The Louisiana Propane Gas Association is excited to host
a joint convention for our sixth year with the Alabama Propane Gas Association at the Hilton Hotel
in Pensacola Beach, FL June 27-30, 2021. Since we all had to miss out on our fifth year together due to
COVID, we are excited to be able to join together once again in fellowship! 2020 was challenging for
everyone so we hope you will be able to take advantage of this unique opportunity and join us for a
spectacular event in 2021!
The convention will start Sunday evening with the Welcome Reception sponsored by Supplier
members from both states. After light hors d’oeuvres and drinks, the rest of the evening is on your own
to enjoy dinner and catch up with other members. As always, feel free to join us in the Hospitality Suite
(see location in your registration packet) to enjoy the view...and share your views!
On Monday, we will start off with a few safety training presentations by Propane Education &
Research Council (PERC), Vets 2 Techs and GeneratioNext Propane Pros. LPGA dealers will earn two
hours of continuing education credits for attending all presentations, but all registrants are encouraged
and welcomed to attend as well. A Solution to the Industry’s Workforce Challenge-One of our industry’s
biggest challenges is an aging workforce, particularly in service. For decades the service technicians,
installers and drivers have been our most important point of contact when it comes to interacting with
our customers. Often times their role could be likened to a first responder, endearing the industry and
company to the consumer. It is clear that maintaining this workforce is essential to increase the capacity
to service our customers in the future and to positively impact customer retention. Thus, securing a
new generation of service professionals is not only important – it is critical. Learn how GeneratioNext
Propane Pros and Vets 2 Techs have worked together to solve this issue - bringing you, your next hire!
Immediately following these training sessions, the Board of Directors from each association will host
their meetings before adjourning for an afternoon and evening of “On Your Own” activities and an “On
Your Own” Dinner. But plan to join us later that evening for our Dessert Extravaganza, Reverse Raffle
and Silent Auction-you need not be present to win, but you will want to be there for all the fun and
excitement! All registrations include one raffle ticket per person, but additional ones are available to
purchase! All funds raised will support the David Reaves and Don Haden Scholarships in Alabama and
the Marie Daniel Scholarship in Louisiana.
Tuesday offers options galore! Join Captain Eddie Lively for a six-hour deep sea fishing trip on
a 55’ charter boat, Lively One II, and win prizes for the largest and most unique catch...or win prizes
while hacking out some frustrations at the Chris Connally Memorial Golf Tournament. This 18-Hole
Championship course, The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, is as challenging as it is beautiful. Bring
a team of four, suggest your own playing partners, or we will place you on a team for this Scramble-
format Tournament. Another family-favorite option is Hangin’ on the Beach. Enjoy a full day of fun in
the sun in our exclusive, designated area and hang with some of the best people in the propane business.
Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen!
We wrap up our convention Tuesday night with our “Aloha, Propane!” President’s Dinner.
Wear your best Hawaiian gear as we prepare to relax in an island paradise! We will have live Hawaiian
entertainment, a limbo contest and more!
