he lived his faith each and those prayers are lifted. Scott,
every day. Because of his
faith, he demonstrated the
characteristics of integrity, truth,
kindness, encouragement, and
patience with everyone that he
encountered. Scott’s Christian
faith was important enough
to him to practice it before his
family, customers, and co-
workers. I personally witnessed
Scott make some very diffi cult
decisions that created strife
in his life that could have
been avoided had he been
willing to waver in his faith and
fundamental sense of what
is right. Scott Lybarger could
not and would not do that,
and I appreciate such a great
example.
Scott Lybarger was part
of a small group that helped
me through a very diffi cult
time by continually offering
encouragement, prayers, and
concern. I expressed to a
member of that group that our
“prayer group” wouldn’t be the
same. He grinned and said,
“Scott has not stopped talking
since he got there.” That’s
when I realized we now have
an inside connection when
to understand how this could
see you soon.

Scott was always a
joy to be around. He was a
leader in every sense of the
word. He included everyone
in discussions. Every thought
included his safety mindset.
Always had a smile on his face.
Strong Christian and family
man. Was a respected friend
to me and many others both
inside and outside the state.

Scott and work in the same
industry with him. I had the
utmost respect for him as a
professional. And, I feel fortunate
to have known him as a friend.

Scott was one of a kind;
he was a Christian, father,
friend, husband, volunteer and
co-worker to a lot of people.
The only thing that made any
since when I heard of his death
is that God needed him. It is
beyond our comprehension
happen to such a good person.
Scott and I were propane
brothers. Our professional lives
evolved in this industry, and I
relied on him for help in many
ways, especially in the early
days. We met in 1989. He was
with Ranger insurance, and I
was just starting with Tri-Cities
Gas. I will never forget my fi rst
convention. Scott and Tanya
had just married. We went on the
deep sea fi shing trip together.
Tanya, Regina and I had a great
time, but Scott got sea sick. Every
time we had a break, Tanya
would ask him if he was ok and
needed anything. By the end of
the trip, Scott was so sick that he
was pissed when she asked him
the last time. That is the one and
only time I saw him angry. We
laughed about that story every
year at the conventions.
I got to spend six hours with
Scott last year when I rode back
from a NPGA meeting with him.
My fl ight was delayed, and I was
griping about it. Scott offered to
let me ride with him. We got to
catch up on everything going
on in our lives. I really don’t think
that Scott took a breath for the
entire six hours. He had a captive
audience and took advantage
of it. We had a great
time! I’m glad I had
that time to spend with
a good friend.
Lisa used him
like a rented mule at
conventions...and
he loved it! Any way
he could help others
seemed to make him
happy.
