1. Disaster management by Col. Sudath Madugalle, Sri Lanka
For advancing the Disaster Management, Col. Sudath Madugalle, Vice-President of All
Ceylon Buddhist Congress and Deputy Secretary General of The WFB presented about
“Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance.” He introduced what Disaster
Management is, then explained the Disaster Management cycle and increased the knowledge
of Disaster response and humanitarian assistance. Additionally, he discussed with attendees
for analysing what activities should be carried out and what really can be done.
2. Humanity At Large by Dr. Basumitra Barua, Bangladesh
Dr. Basumitra Barua, Co-Chairperson, The WFB Humanitarian Services, made a
presentation on topic of “Humanity At Large”. Humanity is about intention from the
heart. Wealth is not necessary to get engaged in humanitarian work. It is a practice of
Lord Buddha’s two sublime states of mind - loving kindness and compassion. Manmade
catastrophes by war and conflict, human migration, or displacements, and natural
calamities caused the humanitarian needs. We must stand together to avoid such things
to happen. It is not difficult to make the change if we could open our hearts towards it.
3. Autism
The Chairperson organized an exhibition of the paintings by Ms. Komaki Eriko, who
is a 27-year-old girl diagnosed with Autism. She has a very special talent at drawing.
This exhibition was held in Kayadera Temple, Tokyo from 20 to 24 September and had
about 500 visitors.
4. The new project of Japanese Temple in Bodhgaya, India
Dr. Yataro Daikubara, a delegate from the International Buddhist Brotherhood
Association in India was supposed to make a presentation on this topic but he was absent
and on the behalf of Dr. Yataro Daikubara, the Chairperson presented on this matter.
The Komyo Free Medical Centre, which until now has been giving out free medicine,
changed its program by giving free education to mothers and children. The International
Buddhist Brotherhood Association in Japan will spend 6,000,000 Japanese Yen on this
new project.

Discussion 1:
Someone proposed a question that why did JBF come to help the Rohingya people but
not Buddhist people. After the discussion, we decided to not get involved in the politics,
and JBF came to save them because they want to help people who are in suffer.
